FAQ

Yes. We use those terms interchangeably.

Good question! Our Playbooks offer more than just a place to document the "how to" of running your business. We included something called a "Preset." This is essentially a way to convert each playbook into an automated checklist that can be created and assigned at any time. This is part of creating and managing your strategic plan. Rather than having to manually write out everything that needs to be done, each week, month or quarter, you can simply select a Preset list of tactics, and automatically update your strategic plan more efficiently. This saves time, labor costs, and reduces error from having steps missed. This is something Word and Google Docs cannot help with, and is a very good reason for using 4in10 for creating and managing the SOPs for a business. Additionally, 4in10 is constantly evolving to be a true one-stop-shop for all standard small business needs. This means it includes more than just Playbooks. If some of your business management is already being done in 4in10, it would make sense to keep as much as possible on this same platform. So, why wouldn't someone use our built-in Playbooks, especially when they do integrate with the Strategic Planning component of this platform? It just makes sense to keep everything together.

To create a playbook, you will navigate to the "Playbooks" section of your account, and then choose the option to create a new playbook. You can give it a name that makes sense, and select an icon to go with the playbook. For example, if it's a playbook for building a website, the name of the playbook might be "Website Development" and you might choose an icon that indicates a website or HTML coding. Then, you'd write out each step involved in the development process. This is done in a very similar way to creating a Word document, or even composing an email. Simply write out the first step as a header. As an example, it might look like this: "Receive initial 50% deposit on developing the website." Then, write out a very clear description of how to go about doing that step. You'd want to do this as if you were training someone new, who's never done it before. Spell out the steps very clearly, so there shouldn't be any errors when following the playbook. If images or video need to be embedded to visually demonstrate the step, that's fine. They can be embedded. Continue to write out each step as a heading, and then use paragraph text to describe the details. Then, once all details have been spelled out, you can easily copy/paste each header into the "Preset" section. Additionally, if you want to create color codes for each tactic, or automatically assign them to a specific individual on your team, that can be done as well.

Only users with access to the Playbooks section of your account will be able to view your playbooks. For example, if you were to bring in a temporary employee with a limited role, and you didn't want them to have the ability to see everything you do and how you do it, you could give them limited access. In this case, "Playbooks" wouldn't even show up in their menu, when logged into your account. User permissions can be set for almost all components of 4in10.
